About the Westmoreland Company

COMPANY HISTORY

In the early 1980’s, Jada Leo, a real estate broker, began developing residential and commercial real estate. He developed relationships with national industrial building users. He entered a relationship with a small package delivery service to develop that company's first build-to-suit facility in the United States. The facility was developed in Huntsville, Alabama. Months after completing that facility, the tenant requested two additional buildings to be developed in South Carolina and Arkansas. Those three projects turned into many others.

In 1990, TWC was formed, being owned by brothers Jada and Karl Leo. Since 1990, TWC has pursued a conservative philosophy of portfolio development retaining a substantial portfolio of industrial buildings. TWC is a preferred developer for a fortune 50 company and continues to pursue new relationships to develop build-to-suit projects.

TWC has developed in excess of 100 ground-up build-to-suit projects in the U.S and Canada along with facility expansions and building modifications too numerous to count.

We believe the portfolio development philosophy is key to our success and our difference. We are committed to our projects for the long-term and to getting things right the first time.
